Duties/Responsibilities:

Job Purpose:

Trade Finance Specialist will be responsible to ensure that all the trade finance activities are conducted strictly in accordance with the company’s policy, rules and regulations that are also compliant with Islamic laws. Purpose of this job is also to  help the organisation to  develop and implement effective trade finance programmesby ensuring to develop  and monitor optimal risk management to promote sustainable business growth.

Education and Experience:

  • A University degree, preferably in Islamic Banking and Finance.
  • 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience.
  • Working experience at regional and provincial level, prior work experience in Banking/Islamic Finance.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Reviews all Islamic laws compliant transaction documentation prior to being submitted to the executive ensuring they are accurate.
  • Acts as first point of contact for all Islamic laws compliant issues.
  • Work closely with the agricultural companies as well as financial institutions to develop financing arrangements necessary for the loans.
  • Develop and appraise loan proposals in various stages.
  • Support agricultural value chain technical specialists to manage credit risk by assessing the technical feasibility of the loan applications and provides required training and TA to the ADF borrowers in production, processing and market development, increasing their likelihood of success and therefore increasing the probability of repayments.
  • Manage on-going relationship with the clients after the disbursement and have regular visits.
  • Any other responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • To follow up overdue import/export bills and deal with customers to resolve problems relating to discrepancies
  • Developing a reviewing trade finance guidelines and policies
  • Identifying risk and developing models to safeguard against losses
  • Efffectively performing technical and analytical functions pertaining to trade financing
